He had big shoes to fill when he joined FlyQuest’s lineup, but he’s since established himself as something more than a last-minute replacement for Flame. V1per is a carry in every sense of the word, and his splitpushing and playmaking are a vital part of FlyQuest’s identity.
Hauntzer also has a knack for piloting carry champions. Sporting a 2.7 KDA and 8.7 CS per minute, he’s a seasoned top laner with a potent combination of mechanical prowess and veteran game sense. He’s also a bit more versatile than his current opponent, as he has no issues showing up on tanks and utility picks.
VERDICT: GGS Hauntzer finds a lead in the top lane.
Jungle Matchup
A different story takes place in the jungle. With a 5.7 KDA and 5.3 CS per minute, Santorin is the foundation of FlyQuest’s roster. His calculated aggression makes him a great asset to his laners, and you can count on him to find clutch ganks or capitalize on great playmaking opportunities. Combine that with his immense game knowledge, and it wouldn’t be an understatement to call Santorin the best jungler in the LCS playoffs 2019.
Contractz isn’t as impressive. With a 2.6 KDA and 4.9 CS per minute, he’s one of the shakier pieces of the Golden Guardians lineup, as he frequently jumps into losing fights and messes up his early game pathing. Granted, he’s not a complete pushover, and he can have good showings on the likes of Kindred and Nocturne, but he’s just about average on other champions.
VERDICT: FLY Santorin conquers the jungle.
Mid Lane Matchup
The FlyQuest vs Golden Guardians mid laner is a clash of playstyles. With a 5.3 KDA and 8.7 CS per minute, FLY Pobelter is a selfless mid laner that knows full well how to convert his leads to other parts of the map. And while he doesn’t exert a lot of kill pressure in lane, he always finds opportunities to make a well-timed roam or a key teleport play.
Froggen is much more self-centered in comparison. His 2.7 KDA and 8.7 CS per minute might not look impressive, but his mechanics are on point. Granted, he won’t be able to keep up with Pobelter’s roams early on, but once the game enters the 5v5 territory, Froggen will have a significant edge over his opponent.

Bot Lane Matchup
We’ve been very impressed with FlyQuest’s bot lane. With a 3.9 KDA and 10.1 CS per minute, WildTurtle is a daring marksman that’s always ready to go for a kill or attempt a clutch outplay. And even though JayJ (3.1 KDA) isn’t as impressive, his defensive playstyle makes him a great fit for such an aggressive carry.
Golden Guardians pale in comparison. Holding a 3.9 KDA and 9.4 CS per minute, Deftly can be formidable on hypercarries and niche picks like Draven or Varus, but his damage output is severely lacking in teamfights. To make matters worse, Olleh (1.8 KDA) is a complete wildcard in the support role, and it’s common to see him committing bizarre positioning mistakes and donating free kills to his opponents.
VERDICT: FLY WildTurtle and JayJ win the bot lane standoff.

Golden Guardians are in for an uphill battle. FlyQuest are better at taking over the map and working together as a unit, so GGS will have a hard time executing their scaling playstyle for five games in a row.
